Dr. Michael Mullan is a holder of Licentiate in Medicine and Surgery of the Society of Apothecaries, United Kingdom. He completed his Medical Degree from London University. He is also a member of Royal College of Psychiatrist (MRCPsych), London. He obtained his doctoral degree in Molecular Genetics (PhD) from London University. At present he is the director of Roskamp Institute and Roskamp Memory Clinic at Sarasota, Tampa, Florida. His Medical Training include: Royal Free School Of Medicine, President of The Royal Free Mental Handicap Society, Elective studies, The Institute of Psychiatry-Studies of the Maudsley Twin Register. He worked at several reputed hospitals. Dr. Michael Mullan worked at Harrogate General and District Hospitals as House Physician and at The Royal East Sussex Hospital, Hastings as the House Surgeon. Dr. Mullan worked for Royal Free Hospital Rotational Training Scheme in Psychiatry. He also obtained training at Friern Hospital, London in General Adult Psychiatry department. He worked at Friern Hospital, London in Psycho-geriatrics and intensive general adult rehabilitation wards. Dr. Mullan rotated at Professorial Unit, Halliwick House, Friern Hospital, London; general psychiatry with forensic bias. He developed active interest in Alzheimer's Disease. Later he worked at Bethlem Hospital, Registrar. Dr. Mullan worked at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Clinical Research Fellowship - Family based Molecular Genetic studies. He worked as Clinical Research Fellow / Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the St Mary's Hospital Medical School, Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. He worked for St. Mary's Hospital and The National Hospital for Nervous Diseases, Queen's Square as Honorary Clinical Research Registrar. At the Department of Psychological Medicine Royal Masonic Hospital, London Dr. Mullan was the Senior Registrar. He held Locum Consulting positions at (1991), Royal Masonic Hospital, Department of Psychological Medicine and at the Royal Free Hospital and Friern Hospital, London as Locum Regular Registrar/Senior Registrar positions in Psychiatry with psychogeriatric emphasis. He held the position of co-director Alzheimer's Disease Research Laboratories, Suncoast Gerontology Center and Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Mullan was the Director, Molecular Genetics Laboratories, Department of Psychiatry. He was the Director, Roskamp Laboratories, Department of Psychiatry and a professor.
